The perfect day

If there is such a day it would be a day like today. Rain, rain, and more rain (I love the rain). Painting and drawing, a nap, a soggy-splash-in-the-puddles time outside (with chores accomplished!) A warm bath, homemade gluten-free graham crackers, hot cocoa and almond froths with nutmeg, some snuggle reading on the couch.

Life doesn't get any better. I am blessed.

Lucas' list

Lucas loves to write a list so I wasn't really surprised to see this on a Monday morning. The Laura Ingalls Wilder clan in list form built from all Lucas' reading.

The timeline cometh

Slowly but surely. A world history timeline done in conjunction with reading A Little History of the World.

Jericho's favorite things

One of which is gathering his essentials (on this day it was pieces of the tea set) and climbing up in Lucas' bed to play. He only accomplishes his goal on the days Lucas is as chorus practice. Other days he is thwarted in his attempts.

He doesn't seem to mind.

Sometimes they visit

Our neighborly horses. And we don't mind a bit.

And they cannot be blamed for toppling that table - that was G.

A change in plans...

I need a new way of seeing my friends. A new way of seeing the beauty around me, the gobs of real life learning going on. This will be my journal. Stay tuned for great pictures and my new perspective.

Cheers!

It's whats for dinner

I find it very strange that I can't remember the item I came into a room for but I can remember commercials I haven't' seen in years. I know it's what they're intended to do - but sheeesh.

All is well here on the home front. There is a lot of homeschooling activities, Latin learning (yes!), a bit of crafting, and as anyone with one or more children - lots of cooking.

The dinner

Tonight's dinner - vege sushi by Lucas - carrots, avocado, cuke
- hard boiled eggs marinated in tamari and vinegar
- in process - broccoli sauteed in sesame oil with sesame seeds
- (not shown) sauteed chicken strips

Well, thank goodness that's done. I almost feel as if I can climb into my fat pants and relax when I know the supper is made.

Oh and my boys - they are what I'm really gonna eat for dinner!
